Project Filters
Project filters can be used to filter the tasks shown. To manage filters you, click
the "Project->Edit Filters" menu item.

Create Filter
Creates a new filter and takes you to the Project filter
setup window.
Edit Filter
Edits an existing filter and takes you to the Project
filter setup window.
Copy Filter
Copies an existing filter and takes you to the Project
filter setup window.
Delete Filter
Deletes a filter permanently.
Set as Default
Set a filter as default. This will move the filter to the top of the Project filters
management list and will be used by all new Project viewers.
Done
Exits the window.

Note: When a filter is active, it can severely limit the visible
tasks. You can quickly see if a filter is active on the Main Window menu bar:

To configure the Project Filter, you can either:
- Select Edit Filter from the Context sensitive menu on a project viewer.
- Select Edit Filter from the main menu while a project viewer is shown.
- Click on the "Filter [current filter]" text in the
Main Window (Image above)

Note: The selections made are cumulative. For instance, selecting
to only show milestone tasks, and tasks with the text "analysis" in them
results in only milestone tasks with the text "analysis in them. It does not
result in both milestone tasks and tasks with "analysis" in them.
Filter by resource(s)
Select this to only show tasks assigned to the resources selected.
Filter by task status
Select the task status to show.
Also show
Sibling Tasks
If a task is selected based on the filter in general, then also show tasks with
the same parent.
Parent Tasks
If a task is selected based on the filter in general, then also show its parent
tasks.
Child Tasks
If a task is selected based on the filter in general, then also show its child tasks.
Miscellaneous
Keep Project outline structure
Check this to show the tasks with the same tree-like outline structure as used in
Project. If unchecked, tasks will be listed in a 'flat' list.
Prepend tasks with the parent tasks name
Check this to prepend task names with the parent task's name as in ParentTask.TaskName.
Only show Milestone tasks
Check this to only include Milestone tasks. Milestone task are task with 0 duration.
Filter by task name
Search task names for the string entered (not CaSe sensitive)
Use regular expressions
Using regular expressions, search for text in the Task Name field of tasks. Only
matches are selected.
Sorting
Define the 'default' sorting to be used when this filter is active. Tasks and resources
can also be sorted by clicking on the column header in the viewer itself.
Sort by colum
Select the column to sort by as well as if the results should be in ascending or
descending order.
Note: The column must be visible in order for the sorting to
take effect.
Save as new filter
Click this button to save the current filter settings as a new new filter.
